Addiction Recovery

RHD recognizes there isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach to addiction recovery. RHD offers a variety of innovative person-centered and person-directed recovery plans that take into account where our clients are in their unique stages of readiness to begin their recovery process, and we’ve long been at the forefront of dual diagnosis programs that treat addiction and mental illness.

At RHD, we know people need more than a referral. RHD’s continuum of care focuses on access to treatment, including “warm handoffs” to keep people from falling through the cracks, and stable housing that removes barriers to recovery. RHD’s philosophy of care coordination meets the needs of program participants in a recovery-oriented environment dedicated to healing, wellness, and choice.

All RHD programs serving individuals with substance use disorder also focus on opioid use disorder treatment. Substance use disorder services embrace medication-assisted treatment and partner with medication-assisted treatment programs and community doctors who prescribe Suboxone/Buprenorphine and/or Vivitrol (Naltrexone). RHD programs promote enhancing access to Narcan, which reduces the effects of overdose.

Opioid Services

Resources for Human Development has been a leader in fighting opioid addiction since 1972, and specializes in creating and providing trauma-informed, person-centered services that work in any community setting.

Programs like Project Advantage, which is a permanent residential housing for homeless women with co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse issues, and New Start, a program designed for formerly incarcerated males identified as having a substance abuse problem, illustrate RHD’s commitment to individualized care in a wide variety of areas.

Our willingness to take on complex cases of clients struggling with dual diagnosis, and our expertise in supporting them, makes RHD a strong partner for state and local governments. At RHD, we encourage growth and development within a safe and empowering environment.

RHD is dedicated to helping our clients learn life skills as a part of their addiction recovery, empowering them to lead fulfilling lives long after they’ve left our programs. All the programs listed below assist individuals in addiction recovery. Please click on those links for more information.
