Private Donors & Foundations

Thousands of people in RHD programs across the country gain the support and encouragement they need to build better lives for themselves, their families, and their communities. Their milestones and successes, large and small, are made possible through the generosity of people like you. Your gift to RHD will:

  • Help families break the generational cycle of poverty and homelessness
  • Improve academic success for at-risk children
  • Prevent child abuse or neglect by teaching positive parenting skills
  • Offer affordable health care to people living in low-income neighborhoods
  • Promote growth through artistic expression for people with disabilities
  • Keep families together as single moms break the grip of substance abuse
  • Help people with disabilities live as independently as possible
  • Engage people isolated from their communities by mental illness

How can I help?
There are several ways you can help people in your neighborhood maximize their independence and achieve success:

Cash donations
RHD accepts donations for individual programs, or for the organization as a whole to use wherever the need is greatest. Donate online with your credit card through a secure server, or mail a check or other form of donation.

Please note: There have been significant delays in the U.S. Postal Services delivery times, which causes any payment sent by mail to take much longer to reach its destination.

It may be preferable to send an ACH (electronic/direct deposit) payment instead. If a paper check is the only method of payment available, please mail it directly to our lockbox. The lockbox is monitored by our bank and funds are deposited once received. The address for the lockbox via regular mail is:

Resources for Human Development
P.O. Box 13520
Philadelphia, PA 19101

If you have several checks or a large check and want to send via UPS/FedEx or overnight the address is:

FIS Lockbox Processing Operations
Attn: Jennifer Ruczynski/PO Box 13520
100 Grove Road
Suite F-Door 2
West Deptford, NJ 08066

Please note: You cannot send an overnight package to a P.O. Box, so the address to use for overnight mail is different.

Does your employer match your charitable gift? If so, please enclose the matching gift form with your donation.

Planned giving
The most familiar type of planned gift is a general bequest, leaving a portion of your assets to RHD. Even a modest bequest will have a large impact.

Other types of planned gifts include charitable remainder trusts, charitable gift annuities, and revocable living trusts. An often-overlooked gift, easy to give, is all or part of a life insurance policy no longer needed for its original purpose. By making RHD the owner of the policy, the premiums you pay are tax deductible. To learn more about tax benefits that will assist you in meeting your personal financial and estate planning goals, contact RHD’s Vice President of Business Development, Karin Annerhed-Harris, at [email protected].

Stock Transfer
Common stock, bonds, and mutual funds can be donated to RHD; for details, please contact RHD’s Vice President of Business Development, Karin Annerhed-Harris, at [email protected].

Donate through the United Way’s Donor Choice
If you wish to support your workplace’s United Way campaign, please designate RHD to receive your payroll deduction. RHD’s Donor Choice number is 00838.

In-kind donations
Many of RHD’s programs accept donations of clothing, household goods, toys, personal hygiene products, etc. Because RHD is a national organization supporting more than 160 programs across the country, there is no centralized mechanism for coordinating in-kind donations to a program. Please contact RHD programs directly for information on how to share your time with consumers, help out in a program’s office, or lend your expertise to an advisory board or special event. You can search RHD program by service line and geography here.

Volunteer your time
Individual programs within Resources for Human Development welcome volunteers in a variety of capacities. Because RHD is a national organization supporting more than 160 programs across the country, there is no centralized mechanism for coordinating volunteer efforts at a program. Please contact RHD programs directly for information on how to share your time with consumers, help out in a program’s office, or lend your expertise to an advisory board or special event. You can search RHD program by service line and geography here.

Thank you for your generous support!
