Strength Alliance
The Strength Alliance promotes and encourages resilience, health and well-being of individuals who engage in organized commercial or underground sex work. The Strength Alliance’s target population consists of individuals who self-identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, and/or intersex (LGBTQI).
The Strength Alliance Seeks to:
Increase understanding of the strengths, areas of concern and service preferences of the target population through a process of Community Discovery
Increase LGBTQI sex workers’ access to existing preventive, early intervention and health and behavioral health services provided by Coalition members and other Philadelphia organizations through outreach and linkage services
Support harm reduction practices among LGBTQI individuals engaged in sex work
Increase capacity of existing organizations to effectively reach and offer help to LGBTQI individuals engaged in sex work through staff development and training
Increase the availability of services acceptable to the target communities.
Coalition members will work with DBHIDS to refine and track meaningful outcome measures.
