Dick Vermeil, who took the Eagles to the 1980 Super Bowl, was born in Calistoga, in the Napa Valley. His great grandfather on his mother’s side owned a vineyard, and his paternal great grandfather used the grapes to make wine at home for the family. Today, along with winemaker Paul Smith and the Frediani family, Vermeil sources fruit from that same vineyard and manages Vermeil Wines in the heart of Napa Valley.

After a legendary NFL career that included a Super Bowl victory with the St. Louis Rams in 2000, Vermeil turned his hobby of winemaking into a thriving business. The focus of Vermeil Wines is Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignons, but Vermeil Winery has also introduced Bordeaux-style blends, a Cabernet Franc, and a single-vineyard Zinfandel.

Chef Sylva Senat is one of Philadelphia’s most celebrated executive chefs, running kitchens known for high-quality ingredients, key flavor combinations and exceptional technique. After a star turn last year on Bravo’s “Top Chef,” he’s set to open Maison 208 this year in Washington Square.
