Now What? Trauma Conference May 8 2019
Sponsored by Resources for Human Development May 8, 2019
RHD’s second annual Trauma-Informed Care Conference, “Trauma-Informed Care in 2019: Now What?” focused on a deeper dive into the practical application of Trauma Informed Care: one person at a time, one provider at a time. Dr. Sandra L. Bloom, Associate Professor, Health Management and Policy at the Dornsife School of Public Health, Drexel University, was this year’s keynote speaker. Dr. Bloom is the founder of the Sanctuary Model, a non-hierarchical, highly participatory, “trauma-informed and evidence-supported” operating system for human services organizations. You can see video of the conference here:
RHD’s history of innovative services began in the behavioral health field in 1970 in response to a community need for outpatient services. Since then, RHD has expanded to meet a variety of needs, utilizing recovery principles in offering services that range from closely supervised housing and intensive inpatient therapy to outpatient counseling and art programs designed for healing through creativity.
