RHD responds to Coronavirus pandemic, working to ensure services, safety, wellbeing of clients and staff

RHD’s primary goal is to provide safe and healthy living and work environments to the people we are privileged to serve and employ, and in the communities where we live. During the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, RHD has enacted a number of protocols across the RHD community to help ensure the health and wellbeing of our staff and clients.

For several weeks, we have worked to develop procedures that would allow RHD to continue to deliver essential services to people in the extraordinary circumstances created by COVID-19. Given RHD’s diverse array of services, those procedures obviously will differ between day and residential services, outpatient services, RHD health centers, programs supporting people experiencing homelessness, and other supports RHD delivers each day. Anyone seeking information about specific services should contact specific RHD programs. Contact information for every RHD program across the country can be found on the RHD website under “Our Programs.”

“The safety and wellbeing of the people RHD serves and employs is our utmost concern, and every possible measure is being taken to protect our clients and our staff while continuing to deliver essential services,” RHD CEO Marco Giordano said. “We are closely monitoring challenges at RHD programs across the country, and working with our partners, funders and stakeholders to reinforce best-practice, preventative safety measures across the organization.

“Like every human services provider, RHD is aware that the circumstances around service delivery are changing rapidly, and we are prepared to take additional steps as the situation unfolds. One of RHD’s great strengths over 50 years of delivering the highest-quality services to people has always been the flexibility to meet changing needs in challenging circumstances. We are committed to doing everything possible to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of our staff and all those they serve during this national crisis.”
