Family House Norristown
Since 1982, Family House Norristown has operated as a long-term residential treatment facility for chemically-dependent women and their children. Family House is one of only a handful of programs in the country that work with mother and child together in a residential treatment setting.
Special components address addiction and parenting skills, as well as prevention and intervention for children. The Family House model keeps mother and children together so the family can recover as a unit.
Family House Norristown has a multidisciplinary team from diverse backgrounds which consists of two therapists, a child development specialist, prevention intervention specialist, and prevention intervention assistant, all led by a master’s level director.
Our staff are an ever-growing knowledge base of information. Staff members receive personal and professional development through internal and community trainings. This helps us stay up-to-date on current addictions treatment in the fields of addiction management, mental health issues, children’s development, and trauma services.
Family House supports Females over the age of 18 with a primary Substance Use diagnosis, have children (under the age of 12) and/or be pregnant, or have a goal of achieving reunification. Pregnant Injection Drug Users, Pregnant Substance Users, Injecting Drug Users, Overdose Survivors, and Veterans are priority populations.
