Tennessee Flood Relief
When deadly storms recently flooded Tennessee, RHD's consumers with intellectual disabilities remained safe and dry due to the heroic efforts of RHD staffers.
RHD caregivers in the Nashville area stayed with their clients even as their own homes were being swept away or otherwise damaged. Some of our dedicated staffers stayed around-the-clock for 60 straight hours, without power much of the time, managing tremendously trying circumstances -- but always making sure our clients were safe and secure.
Floodwaters are receding finally, but the damage is lasting. Several RHD employees lost everything. Today, some are living in motels with their children. In all, more than a dozen RHD’ers were impacted.
Resources for Human Development has set up a special fund to help our employees get back on their feet. RHD is matching your non-tax deductible donations to the RHD Tennessee Flood Relief Fund to aid our colleagues who in a time of crisis selflessly devoted themselves to caring for others. RHD’s Heart to Heart will distribute the funds based on flood victims’ needs.
