Public Schools’ kindergarten suspensions in its Winter,
2003, issue that was picked up by The New York Times,
The Philadelphia Inquirer, and distributed around the
nation via the Associated Press. This article has been
credited with prompting changes in the District’s use
of social service interventions for its young students.
