New Perspectives provides residential and mobile crisis services for people with mental health challenges. In addition to supervised mental health stabilization services as an alternative to psychiatric hospitalization, New Perspectives provides assessment, crisis intervention counseling, crisis stabilization, referral and linkage with other services, and assessment of the need for emergency hospitalization at consumers’ homes or at other community locations.

New Perspectives Crisis Residence is an eight bed mental health crisis residence, in which consumers receive voluntary mental health supports, supervision and treatment services.  NPCR serves individuals who reside in Carbon, Monroe and/or Pike counties in Pennsylvania, and utilizes a strengths-based, recovery focused model to assist consumers in deescalating their mental health crisis and in safely returning to their normal activities of daily living. Through the supports of NPCR’s psychiatrist, residential nurse, Crisis Workers, Mental Health Professionals, Program Specialists, Assistant Director, Unit Director and Volunteers, individuals in need find that they are in receipt of support, therapeutic information, links to services and medication evaluation/education.

New Perspectives Telephone and Mobile Crisis Intervention Services (570-992-0879) provides crisis and emergency counseling and referral 24 hours a day. New Perspectives Telephone and Mobile Crisis Intervention Services provides assessment, crisis intervention counseling, crisis stabilization, referral and linkage with other services, and assessment of the need for emergency hospitalization at consumers’ homes or at other community locations. The Medical Mobile Crisis Intervention Service provides a registered nurse and a mental health professional who, in collaboration with a licensed psychiatrist, assess crises related to consumers’ psychiatric medication.

New Perspectives is a local call center for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, better serving callers in distress by connecting people in the Poconos region with life-saving resources. New Perspective is one of only eight centers in Pennsylvania offering support to people calling the Lifeline.
