At RHD, we celebrate Martin Luther King Day with a day on, not a day off -- our employees are part of the MLK Day of Service, and we try to work to help make our community a better place.
We'll have arts and crafts and storybook hour for dozens of children visiting our offices Monday. A group will go to Stepping Stones, a specialized education program for children, and make and paint murals to decorate the building. We'll be having a spa day at Woodstock Family Center, our shelter for homeless mothers and children, where the ladies at Woodstock can have hair and makeup sessions. And we'll be hosting a resume workshop for people looking to sharpen their skills and be better prepared to find a job.
We'll also have a march around the neighborhood, and make a trip to LOVE Park to feed the hungry.
As Dr. King said: "Life's most persistent and urgent question is: What are you doing for others?"
