VIVIAN LANE BAKERY
Joyce Howard and Vivian Miller were the owners of a well known bakery in the West Philadelphia area. Due to numerous challenges they were unable to keep their retail bakery going and were forced to close several years ago. Their vision for success and outstanding reputation for quality baked goods did not die when the business closed. Together, they explored possibilities to make a `come back' "and found opportunity within the Equal Dollars system. At this time Joyce and Vivian are utilizing a kitchen which they were able to acquire through RHD, at an Equal Dollars rental cost. This arrangement enables them to reduce their start-up cost in US dollars. The dollars they are saving they can invest in other aspects of growing their business. They have begun to test new products and are exploring developing a wholesale market for their goods. To earn Equal dollars, Vivan Lane Bakery sells goods to Equal Dollars members on "Trading Days" and on a special order basis. Hungry Equal dollars members are able to stretch their budgets by acquiring quality baked goods for less than standard retail cost in US dollars.Back to the Equal Dollars page
