Since 1970, RHD has tailor-made programs throughout the country to meet the specialized needs of city, county, and state governments—always with full consideration of the funds available.

Programs funded by city, state, and Federal departments have included:

• Long-term living programs for adults with mental retardation;
• Shelters and other programs for mentally ill homeless individuals;
• Employment and job training programs;
• Home ownership opportunities for low and moderate income first-time home buyers;
• Health centers for residents of public housing;
• and many others.
