Sharon Kauffman chairs National Committee

Sharon Kauffman, an Associate Director at RHD has been appointed as the Chairperson of the American Association of Mental Retardation (AAMR) special interest group -Social and Sexual Concerns. AAMR is the oldest professional association for individuals concerned with mental retardation in the country. It is over 125 years old and has pioneered and championed the advocacy movement for persons with mental retardation throughout North America. While the Social and Sexual Concerns group is one of the "youngest" members of the AAMR family, it is also one of the largest and fastest growing groups. With such a quickly expanding membership, it clearly reflects an important area of concern in the mental retardation service delivery system.

Sharon promises to lead this group through a very exciting and challenging agenda for the upcoming year. RHD is proud to be represented by such a wonderful leader.
